Hi, I'm Prof TnT, better known as Tamra S. Davis, Ph.D. and the first T in the TnT. More about the second T later!
I love teaching. It is my passion. And that’s a good thing since by day, I am a college professor who teaches future teachers. The rest of the time, I am “that” person. The one friends and family call if they need help with . . . whatever. I'm a proud Oklahoma State graduate. Although I didn't meet Tim while at OSU, he is also a proud alum! In fact, he recognized the Eskimo Joe's logo on a hoodie I was wearing in a picture and made an effort to meet me. Eskimo Joe's is the place for college students to hang out in Stillwater.

Because of a few curve balls in life, I have developed the attitude of Why Not? Why not explore the world, even if that world is in my own backyard? Why not develop a plan for that dream? Why not start a blog? Why not begin my own consulting firm and execute the plan to work with many different groups of people around the world?
Although I had read the poem The Dash by Linda Ellis before, after reading it again few weeks after my youngest brother died unexpectedly, I decided to start enjoying every day what this life offers. We all hope for a long dash in our lives; however, we never know when that dash will end. I want to live and enjoy my dash.
One of my goals was to begin a blog to share the things I have found fun, entertaining, inspiring, or useful in this life. But without a plan, that goal was just a dream. So, I asked myself, why have I not started that blog? Since there wasn’t a good answer, I developed the plan. Now my dream is becoming my reality. Click to learn about my Why Not? journey.
My emphasis is on enjoying each day. I have discovered that financial literacy is probably the best way to enjoy the dash. Good thing! I teach financial literacy and it is one of my favorite topics. Basically, all my posts revolve around finances, either how to avoid mistakes, secondary income, getting your teen ready to make the transition to college (without it costing a small fortune in supplies and other needs), planning for retirement without all the gigantic financial words, travel, photography, setting healthy goals, or just enjoying living life; and it’s all based upon my personal successes and failures (and there were some major failures along the way). Check out my #WhyNot? journey and begin to ask yourself, #WhyNot?

I love teaching, my family, my guy (the second T) , photography, travel, painting, crafts, and more recently whitewater kayaking!
Who knew that learning to whitewater kayak (video) would be something I would explore at 52? Even more surprising since I have always had a fear of getting my face in the water, I am actually learning the fundamentals of kayaking. I can honestly say that life is a learning process and there are many things that I just can’t do very well, even if I do love trying.

Blogging started as a class project (for my students, not me) and turned into my newest adventure. So, pull up a chair in my virtual learning space and join me on this adventure as we explore topics such as the 101 things I wish college students knew before they step into my classroom; learning to kayak as a menopausal, out-of-shape woman; photography tips and tricks; my personal challenges; and whatever else pops into my head to share.
You can learn more about who I am by visiting my professional and photography pages, or sending me an e-mail.
I’m a little zany, and it takes a brave soul to join me on an adventure; yet, those who do join me can tell you it was worth the effort! Just ask Tim. Are you ready for the ride? If you want to join me for this adventure, you can sign-up for my Members’ Only Learning Space (coming soon). There will be monthly giveaways, special tips and tricks, and other goodies along the way. And the best thing, it is all free.
